Common questions
Using Kardo
The till can't scan my barcode
Kardo turns the screen brightness up automatically. Hold the phone flat and still, about 10–15 cm from the scanner, and take off a dark screen protector if you have one. If it still fails, edit the card and check the barcode type, or read out the number shown under the barcode.
Kardo picked the wrong barcode type
Open the card, tap ⋯ → Edit, and choose the right type under “Barcode type”. The preview shows the new barcode straight away. When in doubt, compare it with the printed card.
The camera stays black when scanning
Check that Kardo may use the camera: Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera → Kardo. If it's allowed and still black, close Kardo from the app switcher and open it again. You can always type the card number in instead.
How do I keep a card at the top?
Touch and hold the card in the list, then choose “Pin to Top”. Pinned cards also come first in the widget.
How do I add the widget?
Touch and hold an empty spot on your Home Screen, tap “Edit” → “Add Widget”, search for Kardo and pick a size. Tapping a card in the widget opens its barcode.
Sync, backup and sharing
My cards don't appear on my other iPhone
Both devices need the same Apple Account with iCloud turned on. In Kardo, open Settings: “iCloud Sync” should say “On”. New cards can take a few minutes to arrive.
How do I move my cards to a new phone?
With iCloud on, your cards come over by themselves. Without iCloud, use Settings → Back Up Cards on the old phone, then Restore from Backup on the new one.
How do I share a card with my family?
Open the card and tap Share. They get the card number and a link; if they have Kardo, the link adds the card in one tap. The card travels inside the link and never passes through our servers.
Privacy
Can you see my cards?
No. Your cards are on your devices and in your own iCloud. Kardo has no account and no analytics. See the privacy policy.
